Also a not-to-be-missed highlight comes directly from the King of the Mekong River, “Giant Cat Fish”. The Mekong River
One of the worlds major rivers, and 7th largest in Asia with an estimated length of 4,350 km (2,703 mi), and drains an area of 705,000 km2 (307,000 sq mi). The source of the river starts all the way from the Tibetan Plateau where it joined by Za Qu River, also called ‘Lan Cang River’ in Chinese. The river runs through China’s Yunnan province, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Mekong Giant Catfish
The Mekong Giant Catfish is a species of catfish native to the Mekong basin in Southeast Asia. This catfish currently holds the record for the largest freshwater fish. The Giant Mekong can also now be seen sometimes in the river of Bangkok, when feeding fish near the temples. The Mekong Giant Catfish grows extremely quickly which reaches a weight of 150 – 200 kg within 6 years
