‘LIFE ALONG THE RIVER’ Art and Culture Exhibition @ Novotel Suvarnabhumi March 19 – April 20, 2010

Life Along The River

Bangkok, March 2010 – Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel in corporation with Amphur Bang Phli Cultural Council and Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited will run an art and culture exhibition under the name of “Life Along The River” leading by Wattana Poolcharoen, famous freelance artist and 40 honorary artists. A part of proceed is to support the activities of Amphur Bang Phli Cultural Council.

Life Along The River, the first art exhibition will comprises of over 100 works of watercolor paintings, drawings and photographs on canvas including Thai culture and music show. This exhibition will be reflecting the local culture and traditional way living along river and canal in Bang Phli district to publish unseen to foreigners and Thai people are proud to be Thai and conscious maintain of Thai.


Wattana Poolcharoen is well known freelance artist who graduated from Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin Pohchang Campus. He was born and lives along the Bang Chalong canal in Bang Phli district. Since he was young he has a big passion for art. He’s very proud of Thai local lifestyle and full spirit of live in his birth land. He invited his friends who are artists to join a boating to see the atmosphere along the river which builds the inspiration for them to create their works through end of the brush into the canvas.


Wattana Poolcharoen used to exhibit his work several times. His works is remarkable by creating from his experience to compose imaginative with impressive integration to present on acrylic painting. He’s very proud in two masterpieces, painting of ‘The Royal Barge Narai Song Suban’ and ‘The 60th Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne’ among Thai people in yellow shirt paying respect in honour of their beloved King.

Kumpon Pongpipat, Wattana’s friend among 40 participating artists presents his works at this event. He worked with Wattna as creative in advertising agency. Kumpon can create his works since he was childhood, start by drawing cartoon pictures of friends. At age of 12 years he painted face of USA President Johnson to celebrate his birthday wishes. He received the certification from President Johnson as the awards. Kampon has carried a big passion in the beautiful light and shadow effects. He believes that emotion and feeling of human can express through the mouth and eyes. His works is remarkable by portrait spirit through oil painting on canvas. The pride of masterpieces is the paintings of HM the Queen which exhibited and proceed donate to Princess Pa Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society. Also he is unique in creating art combine with image of a geometric point of view look like the graphics.


The opening ceremony will be on Friday, 19 March 2010 at 3.30 pm at lobby level of Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport, presided over by Mr. Surachai Kanasa, Governor of Samutprakarn. The painting exhibition will be on view from March 19 until April 19, 2010 at 10am onwards. The Thai culture show will run from March 19 until April 8, 2010 at 10am to 3pm.
